Aesthetic
designs have never failed to attract people, and engraving various designs on
materials as different as metals, stones, wood, glass, etc., was on vogue from
time immemorial. People carved various designs on metal plates and stones using
crude implements. The tools were limited, and it took days and months to
engrave pictures. Even then, the designs were not precise as one would like to
have. Soon, the hand implements gave way to engraving machines, and these
machines came in various sizes and shapes according to the surface to be
engraved.
Though machines made things easy, even then, it was still a hard work
requiring lots of skills on the part of the person using the engraving machine.
However, the arrival of laser etching has made things easy, and there are no
more hassles. In this method, silent laser rays are used for etching designs on
the required surface, and there is absolutely no contact between the machine
and the surface. This means there are no more bits and tools as in conventional
machines and no noise too, and this makes it more environment-friendly.
